Who Can Contribute
Anyone! Some pages are protected by the author, especially help files and Sims99 official files, but otherwise Wiki99 is meant to be a tool for collaborating and sharing information!
However, to attempt to cut down on the amount of spam and graffiti we get here (this is a common problem with all wikis), you must be logged in to edit a page.
Wiki Monkeys
The wiki monkeys are a group of people who are dedicated to maintaining and updating the wiki with fresh content. There are several different ways for a monkey to contribute to the wiki. If this is something you may be interested in, learn more about what it takes to be a Wiki Monkey.
What Can I Add
You MUST own the copyright of any article or tutorial that is added from another source. If someone else wrote it, you MUST have their permission to reprint it here.
Moviemaker Interest
Wiki99 is designed to be of use to machinima creators. Therefore any cheats, tips, tutorials, articles, etc that are useful to moviemakers would make a great addition.
Tutorials
On the Tutorials page you may either link to tutorials that you (or someone else) has on their own site. If you wish to include an entire tutorial or a lengthy description of how to do something, please create a new page for it and add [[Category:Tutorials]] to the bottom of the page.
What Can I Edit
The Wiki is designed to be a growing and living thing, changed as the need arises, checked for accuracy by site visitors, and edited by the community as a whole. If you have a page you do not wish to be edited, you can protect it by clicking the 'protect' tab at the top of the page (if you are its creator) but please ONLY do this if you are adding something protected by copyright, such as a reprinted article (And in that case, you MUST be the author of that article or have express permission to add it to the Wiki).
With the exception of 'Official' Sims99 documents and help files, everything on the Wiki is open to edit and correction by other users. (Bearing in mind the Wiki Sysops can roll back changes made inappropriately.)
Can I Add My Own Website
Spamming the Wiki simply to promote your own website is NOT allowed and will result in your changes being deleted and possibly banning. IF your website contains a tutorial, hack, game mod, or other information that would be helpful to others IS allowed. You may include the link on the appropriate page.
If you wish to add a link to your own website, you may do that only on your own profile page. (The link to your profile page will look like this: http://www.sims99.com/wiki/User:YourName
Can I Promote My Movies Here
No. To promote your films, please go to our forums. You may link to your own films on your Wiki Profile if you wish. (The link to your profile page will look like this: http://www.sims99.com/wiki/User:YourName
What If I See Something That Should Be Deleted?
If it's on a page you can edit, simply remove it. Bear in mind that if you delete something just to be spiteful, or vandalise someone else's page, you may be banned from Wiki99.
If it's on a page you cannot edit, please contact a Sysop on their 'talk' page.
