This effect is a series of still pics, and is an extension of Nova's Glass Break 1 effect. These instructions may be confusing if you're not familiar with photo rendering program capabilities, but anyone who needs further detail, please feel free to PM or email me.

First, I set up my sim to workout with the punching bag which is under 'Career RewardsAthletic'. After he began, I paused and moved him in front of the window I wanted to shoot him at using the cheat 'moveobjects on'. However, I did not shoot my sim through the window, rather I removed it to get a clean shot of him and just shot with walls down. Just before he went into his kicking motion I put the game on slowmotion 8, to slow down the action.

Next, I began taking a series of still shots of the kicking motion. I paused/unpaused the game to get a 'Print Screen' of each stage in the kicking process. It came out to be 18 pics, but you could use more or less depending on how detailed you care to get.

In Photoshop, I used the 'Polygonal Lasso Tool' to draw a jagged hole when his foot reached the near top of its motion (I think it was the 9th or 10th still). Once I had the jagged hole shape selected, I inversed the selection area so everything was selected except the hole. I then raised the brightness on the entire non-hole area 50% to give the appearance of a pane of glass. For each subsequent shot, I just made the hole area bigger but always kept it in the same place. The last few frames all used the same hole shape.

For added effect, I then selected random triangle shapes around each hole on each still that would serve as broken shards. It was very simple to select maybe 2 or 3 dozen triangles at a time, then raise the brightness on those triangles by 50%, making it look like glass fragments in front of more glass. These I just selected at random around each hole. Oh yeah, and I raised the brightness 50% on the first 8 or 9 stills before his foot connects with the window to maintain the illusion that he's on the other side of the glass.

Last, I plugged the series of shots into my Windows Movie Maker and made a short .wvm file to put into my master movie. I did this so I could choose to speed up or slow down the action in the final movie.

Easy, huh?
