08-May-2008 | | Winner of April's Movie of the Month! | Congratulations to DavieD123, director of FUNHOUSE,
for the winning movie of April 2008!
This wonderfully scary movie produced by DoubleD Studios and
featuring the wonderful writing talents of formerdiva, and a stellar cast, was a
hit with the sims99 viewers! Amazing attention to details, fun one-liners and
a oh so creepy clown were the perfect ingredients to bring this project together.
It's no wonder this is movie of the month! If you haven't watched this yet, you need only to check out DavieD123's profile and do so!
There were a fantastic crop of movies in April and plenty of competition.
The runner-up movie pick for April 2008 was directed by RupertCanada.
A brand new series which had viewers wanting more right away!
Cosmic, Episode One is a definite must watch. A sexy and intriguing pilot,
this is a series that is sure to be one to keep up with!

09-Apr-2008 | | A Modtacular Movie Contest! | Some of you may remember a while back when the mods made a movie together for Halloween.
Here it is again, just to refresh your memory.
Now, did you ever wonder what would happen if the mods got a hold of your movie ideas and content and made a movie with it? Well here's your chance!
Four different 'mini-contests', the winners of which will be used by the Sims99 mods to make a movie for your viewing pleasure!

27-Mar-2008 | | Sims99 Movie of the Month News! | Sims99 Members have spoken and the voting has given us February's Movie of the Month: created by the talented director VRevis it's a music video for the Nine Inch Nails song: 'Only' Wonderful special effects and her signature character Shep of Bogus Unfocused fame is featured in this great video - be sure to check it out!
We had a fantastic runner up this month as well! Serenity's Cupid's Arrows 'Teen Spirit' episode 1.02. This is shaping up to be a great series with plenty of laughs and excellent writing and voicework - be sure to check out the series!

Speaking of reviews; The Sims99 Movie Workshop is about to have it's first anniversary this April. The group has really come together and continues to help out both directors and reviewers alike to fine-tune their craft.

The Overcast wants to expand its audience, and to do so it needs your help. Using only rights-free tools (like Antics, iClone, Moviestorm, Second Life, etc.), create a video ad of no more than 2 minutes in length to tell others about the show. Entries will be judged by a select panel of your machinima peers. The winner will see hisher name in lights, and take home the mother of all machinima prize packages!
