The desire for encouragement and good contructive feedback are the prime
motivation for most amateur film creators (whether they make flash films, live action shorts,
Sims 2 machinima, or other machinima) and both of these things will help us all
evolve into outstanding movie directors. We must be able to recognise what works
with the audience and what turns them off.
Learning to GIVE good constructive feedback is every bit as important in this
learning process, because we learn to watch movies with an eye toward technique
and the creative process as much as the sheer entertainment value. Learning to
ACCEPT constructive feedback is also difficult in the beginning, especially if
we don't understand the basis for comments, and it can take a lot of courage to
persevere and improve our craft.
But.. the right attitude on the part of the reviewer as well as the part of
the director is a win-win situation!
Therefore we have an award program at Sims99.com to recognise this
ever-important piece of the puzzle. Introducing Star Reviewers!
- What you have to do: Give QUALITY reviews on sims99 (no special signup
is required.. all users are eligible)
- When do you do it: Anytime! Past reviews count!
- What's the prize: Your reviews on sims99 will have an icon saying "Star
Reviewer"! The more QUALITY reviews you do, the more stars you can earn!

Rules:
- You must have a sims99 account to post reviews. If you don't have one,
getting an account is easy and free. Go to http://www.sims99.com/create_account.php
to sign up.
- Reviews are not just counted in QUANTITY but in QUALITY. Although one
person may have posted the same number of reviews as another, he may not be
ranked as highly. What's in the reviews counts!
- Here are some suggestions for posting quality reviews:
- Include at least one comment about something specific you liked in
the movie
- Include at least one specific suggestion for improvement
- It must be evident that you WATCHED the movie! So reviews simply
saying "I liked it" or "Great film" won't count toward 'Star Reviewer'
status.
- Reviews cannot break the rules of sims99 (http://www.sims99.com/rules.php)
A reviewer who breaks the rules is ineligible for Star Reviewer ranking.
