Sims 99 Rules

Movies must have an advisory warning if they contain material some users may find offensive.

The same standards apply to screenshots. If you post something inappropriate, it will be removed and you will be given ONE warning. Do it again and you won't be permitted to link to your movies from our site.

Posting reviews which comment on the moviemaker personally, rather than the movie itself, is not allowed. Rating a movie because of personal issues, and not the movie content is not allowed. Your review/rating will be removed and you will be warned.

Giving someone a bad review or downrating their movies simply because they gave you a negative review or didn't like your movie will NOT be tolerated. This isn't the place to get into personal politics. If you have a problem with someone, take it someplace else. People who engage in this type of activity may lose their sims99 accounts and / or voting and reviewing priviledges, and be banned from the 'Star Reviewer' program.

Sims99 does not HOST movies. We link to movies so you can see them all in one place, rate, review, and enjoy them.

You must, if possible, link directly to your movie (the .wmv or .avi file) and not to a website or MySimPage that simply has a listing of your movies. You may link to a movie host link-page made specifically for ONE movie, but not a general fansite or list of several movies. If you use a movie host that requires the user to take special action beyond 'click to download', please be sure you include instructions in your movie description!

Each user may have ONE account on Sims99. Any user found using multiple accounts to rate and review themselves, or vote for themselves in the contest may find all of their accounts and movies deleted, and all of their movies held ineligible for the Monthly Best Movie Contest. We realise that it is possible to have more than one person in a household interested in machinima! However, we do track IP addresses as one of the many tools to ensure that ratings and the monthly contest stay fair. Therefore, we will allow multiple accounts per household ONLY when those accounts are NEVER used to rate and vote for each other. Same-household accounts that vote for each other will cause their movies to be disqualified from the contest.
