Itjustworks4me grabbed a well-deserved 3rd place in our New and Improved themed movie contest last June with her film Moving Forward. The judges said this about it: "This was such a powerful and moving story. The music and the visuals were a perfect fit, and we loved how no matter what happened, the girl kept going on. Along with expert delivery, all we can say is incredible! It was very sweet and a joy to watch. The song choice was perfect for this video as we see her "moving forward" in her life. We grew quickly attached to her story as the director goes through the lows and highs of her life in a short amount of time. Excellent camerawork and editing make the whole movie move smoothly through time."
Sims99: Where did you draw inspiration from for this movie?
Itjustworks4me: Actually it was the theme. I loved the song "Moving Forward" by Hoobastank and when you anounced the theme it was perfect for me!
Sims99: What was the most difficult shot or moment in your movie?
Itjustworks4me: Getting all the editting to match up. The scene where the background changed but the sims didnt was harder than you think!
Sims99: How long was production time on this movie from start to finish?
Itjustworks4me: 2 weeks! I shot the movie all the way threw in one day then when I went to edit, I went back in and changed and re-shot scene to make them better for how I liked it.
Sims99: What is your favorite scene in this movie?
Itjustworks4me: My fave scene was when she was walking up the stairs. It really, to me, set the tone for what was to come.
Sims99: Do you have a funny production story about this movie?
Itjustworks4me: More heartbreaking! While I was shooting this movie, the lights went out and the pc shut down, and when the lights came back on and I re-started the pc.......my town totally dissappeared from the game! I had to re-do all the sets and sims and what film I had shot. Luckily I didnt have much footage at that time!
Sims99: Is there anything you would change about this movie, or were you 100% satisfied with the outcome?
Itjustworks4me: I second guess myself all the time so I am never 100% happy with them! I always re-watch and think if I would of done this instead.......
Sims99: What future movie projects can we expect to see from you in 2007?
Itjustworks4me: Not sure, I want to try my luck with voice-over type movies though!
Sims99: Do you have some advice for new filmmakers?
Itjustworks4me: YES! Listen to your reviews! I did and it made a world of difference when I compare my first movies to my recent movies! I took everyones advice and thoughts and did as they said and it made a world of difference!
Sims99: What was your favorite movie(s) featured on sims99 in 2006?
Itjustworks4me: There are so many I loved. My favorites are: Helena by Jaydee, The Crow by witchery, Kylie's Life by M1chem, and The Monsters Ball by taizhu! I have them all burned to dvd's and watch them often!
Sims99: Of your OWN movies, which is your favorite and why?
Itjustworks4me: Actually its my very first movie, "Who you'd be today", just because it was my first time trying this. I found sims99 and they announced a contest and I thought I would try my luck. It was full of errors and repeating scene and all the "bad things". But I am still proud of it!
Sims99: Of your OWN movies, is there one you dislike or would have done differently and why?
Itjustworks4me: My movie "Stay". I love the idea and I love the song, but the video could use better scenes to make it more heart felt. Maybe one day I will re-create it................
Sims99: What do you like to see in a machinima movie?
Itjustworks4me: Emotions! If the director can make me feel what the charactor is feeling then its a great movie to me. I have watched many movies that have brought me to tears, Kylie's Life comes to mind. I have watched that movie 100 plus times and I still cry when they met in heaven again!
Sims99: What are your thoughts on the future of machinima in general?
Itjustworks4me: I see great things! With all the great modders out there, there are so many possiblities opening up within the video game to make more life like and believeable movies. With Sims 2, with each new expansion come more mods, hacks and cheats that allows you to do some amazing scenes. To be honest, some of the newer movies coming out leaves me speechless!
Sims99: How did you get started making machinima?
Itjustworks4me: Was searching the web for custom content and happened across sims99. I started watching the movies and seen the January 2006 contest and have been hooked since!
Sims99: Do you see machinima as having big-screen potential in the future?
Itjustworks4me: OMG yes! As a matter of fact I just seen a soda pop commerical that used, I believe it was Grand Theft Auto, and it was a wow its catching on moment in my mind!
Sims99: What are your other hobbies besides making machinima?
Itjustworks4me: Besides being a taxi cab for the kids (ha ha!). I love to sing. Believe it or not I can carry a tune! Of course singing while doing housework wont make me famous, but my kids and hubby love to hear me belt out a song! I also am very involved with my kids softball/baseball league. Its there passion and I am a 100% supporter of helping them follow there dreams! In about 10 years watch for my daughter on tv when they air the college softball, she will be the 3rd basemen with the wicked right arm! And my son will be the baseball catcher chasing them back to 3rd!
Sims99: Tell us something about yourself that's plausible, but untrue, and something that's unbelievable, but true.
Itjustworks4me: I placed first in the state of Pa in 1992 for a cometology elegant hair and make-up competion! And I once went backstage of a concert to met Randy Owens (of the country group Alabama) when I was 10 and when my mom went to pick me up to kiss him, he bent down at the same time and he broke his nose on the top of my head! Now you guess which is true and untrue!!!!
