Kathryn Kang, aka Teckla, won an honourable mention in February of 2006, for 'Anna', an amazing movie created with the Quake 3 engine. The lyrical short film chronicles the life of a flower in a gothic fairytale. Won 'Best Technical Achievement' at the Machinima Film Festival 2003.

In October 2006, Sim-plyMe's 5-star movie Tryst was chosen as an honorable mention, and it's easy to see why. A beautiful period piece, its amazing visuals are what stunned most viewers, but that's only the icing on the cake to a wonderful piece of storytelling. -- read more! |

It's hardly a surprise when Jaydee's name comes up as a winner in the Sims99 contests, because she seems to win people over with every project she does. Helena was no different, taking the top honor and winning "Best Movie of the Month" for May 2006.-- read more! |

February saw Michelle, aka Mizskellington, win an honorable mention for the fifth installment of her "Will You Be My Frien'", an episode entitled "Arnie's Bad Day". With it's unique and unpredictable plot, and a strong, memorable character, this series has garnered a lot of attention, and we're glad to see it on the honorable mentions list!-- read more! |

In February of 2006, Aim2009, a newcomer to Sims99 won the "Best Movie of the Month" contest for her movie "The Heiress – The Wedding". This movie was a cross-over from a very popular Sims 2 "Story", and a creative way of bringing those Sims characters to life in a different way. -- read more! |

In Janaury of 2006, the honourable mention went to "True Love Waits", by French Sims director Rb_Floyd. An interesting drama, it takes a common scenario (a cheating spouse discovered) and shows it with artistic shots and a creative twist. It's unbelievable that this was just his first film! -- read more! |

Pcom1777 is well known for being a fantastic director here on Sims99, but his film 'Madison' shows that even our favourite machinimators can continue to improve their skills! Madison is Pcom's best movie to date, showing off his storytelling and editing skills, and establishing that he's back with a vengence!

In June of 2006, Andre, aka "jixsts2", won "Best Movie of the Month" for Ooh La La, an exciting music video set in a near-future underground nightclub. But before that, in January, he garnered an honorable mention from the public vote for his film The Mod-O-Raters, the second place winner of our 1st Anniversary themed movie contest.

Nils, aka Pyronium3, won "Best Movie of the Month" in July 2006 for Since I've Met You, a film about love, betrayal, and family, a stunning film which blew our viewers away! But his film Far Out Man won an honorable mention earlier in the year, showing that he's got more than one gear. Nils' versitility and talent never cease to amaze!

Taizhu flat out stunned the judges in the "Scare the Witch" themed movie contest last October with her film Monster's Ball. Incredibly detailed with fantastic costumes and incredible attention to detail, this film made everyone stand up and take notice!

Before we knew Armanus as the 'take no prisoners' mod that he is today, we knew him as the creator of Attack of the Sims, a prize-winning entry to the Sims99 1st Anniversary contest! One of the judges in this contest said of this film, "It's just damned fantastic!"

Nothing has proved to be quite so epic as the production of The Crow, which Witchery talked about for months, teasing and tormenting us for months before it was finally released. But when it was, it was easy to see why Sims99ers chose it as the Best Movie of April 2006. Then in October of 2006, she followed it with a movie of amazing technical achievement with COLD, which earned a spot on the honorable mentions list that month.

Itjustworks4megrabbed a well-deserved 3rd place in our New and Improved themed movie contest last June with her film Moving Forward. The judges said this about it: "This was such a powerful and moving story. The music and the visuals were a perfect fit, and we loved how no matter what happened, the girl kept going on. Along with expert delivery, all we can say is incredible! It was very sweet and a joy to watch. The song choice was perfect for this video as we see her "moving forward" in her life. We grew quickly attached to her story as the director goes through the lows and highs of her life in a short amount of time. Excellent camerawork and editing make the whole movie move smoothly through time."

In June 2006, Katzombie138 received an honorable mention for her film High - Graduation, the twelfth and final episode of her must loved Pleasantview High series. A prolific filmmaker, katzombie combines technical skills with memorable characters her fans grow deeply attached to!

Phil Rice, aka Overman, has received a lot of critical acclaim for his film Male Restroom Etiquitte, and once you see it, it's easy to see why! The first comedy movie to win our Best Movie of the Month award, it showed that a simple idea can be funny, and not all bathroom humor is for kids.

In April 2006, Cltcknt08 received an honorable mention for her film Archaic, then was again recognised in July for Garnet, and again the users just loved Hypnosis in October! In fact, watching these films makes it easy to see why she's one of our most popular directors.

In August 2006, the Sims99 users showed their love for More Than Enough by Pegasys and it received an honorable mention. Viewers loved not only her editing and camera angles, but her strong storytelling as well.

In Feb 2006, Todnyc received an honorable mention for Minor Currents (Redux), and then again in September we saw The Fixer; Chapter III : One Digit Off receive a huge amount of votes. The Fixer is an all-time favourite film here at Sims99, and with its gritty feel, fascinating characters, and quality sound work, it's easy to see why.

Kathryn, aka circa1700, is another one of those directors who everything she touches turns to gold. But her work goes beyond mere talent, she lovingly crafts her work with dedication and sweat, but also with humor. In November 2006, the Sims99 users declared her movie Karma Slave to be the best of the month, and then in December, her riotously funny animation "A Week in the Life of a Ninja" was the first movie in the animation category to take the top honor!
