#6 - Number 9 Take 5 - Ninhead

Ninhead is a master at making memorable movies, using songs that get stuck in your mind and visuals that even the most experienced Sims 2 moviemaker will stare and wonder how on earth he did it. 'No 9 Take 5' stars a character familiar to anyone who has played The Sims 2: Pollination Technician 9, but Ninhead has taken him into new territory. The film is quirky, strange, artistic, and truly wonderful. You won't be able to tear your eyes away from the screen. This movie was easy to put on the top of my list for this retrospective, as it's always been one of my favorites, but even more than that, it has something every moviemaker should aspire to: Originality. #5 - Silver Stars Purple Hearts - AmandaJ3162

This series in an ambitious project that combing both The Sims 2 and Halo for PC games. AmandaJ3162 is able to intertwine these two game engines together seamlessly and gives us a series that is both exciting and well thought out. The story behind this series is original, well played out, and never boring. That and her excellent utilization of several voiceovers, well-crafted scenes and sets make this production a must see. #4 - Stand Up! - noeyedeer

Here is a video that when I first watched it I said now THAT’S what a music video should look like! It’s rare that I will watch a Sims2 video a second time immediately after watching it but this was one of those cases. I was taken back by the amazing effects used to make it seem as though the room was shaking during the chorus of the song. The use of the security cameras showing the band playing was unique and very cleverly done. Combined with beautiful coloring, very cool sims and tight set design, this is a video not to be missed! #3 - Run, Fries, Run! - ninhead1011

One of my favorite Sims Movie directors out there. He is not just a director but an artist with a completely unique perspective. His work on Run, Fries, Run! reminds me of the classic Dick and Jane book. No doubt maybe a bit of inspiration came from that!. What stands out in this movie is the amazing use of greenscreening his characters to life. The premise is simple, fries at school, but the technique obviously shows many hours and incredible effort put into every scene. One can’t help but giggle as you watch this adorable march of the fries! Truly a unique and wonderful movie! (chosen by and commentary by Witchery)

#2 - Deadly Nightshade - Cltcknt08

"A Story of Jealousy, Deception, and Murder." The description of this movie alone is more that enough to draw any viewer’s attention, but it is Cltcknt08's ability to bring this story to life that is truly impressive. Everything about this story falls into the right place. Her amazing set and costume design, cinematography, and the use of a black and white presentation all serve to enhance the authenticity of this movie as a period piece, but also draws the viewer into a this richley woven take of deceit. #1 - Only The Strong Survive - Crack_6K

For a site that was originally created as a Sims 2 fansite to choose a film made with 'Max Payne 2' as the most stand-out movie of the year might seem a tad strange, but only to those who haven't seen this incredible movie. It does something few other films do: causes viewers to forget the medium of the movie and immerse themselves completely. The story is gritty and compelling, and the action intense and real. But what makes this top my personal 'must see' list is the depth of characters, achieved in just a short film. And it's not only raved about by Sims99 users, but machinima lovers the world over, even winning a 'Mackie' at the 2005 Machinima Festival. Watch this movie: I promise you won't regret it.
