#11 - Halfway Home Series - Noeyedeer
Half-way home is a continuing series that now has 17 episodes, 16 regular
and 1 Christmas special. I chose this series as part of the retrospective
because of noeyedeer's unflagging dedication to this hilarious and quirky
collection of characters, to the point that once he got in his stride,
he actually went back and remade the earlier episodes. That alone takes
a lot of courage to do, but in the case of this series, it was worth the
extra work, because when noeyedeer is in the 'zone', his comedy is unfaltering,
strange, and uproarious. I cannot imagine Sims99 without this fantastic
series. (chosen by and commentary by Nova)
#10 - WANT ME - mingkong
This premiere talent has created a Sims2 Music Video that can rival the videos playing on MTV. This Director knows their way around the editing process and it clearly shines through in this video. The tilted camera angles the quick shots are unique and the viewer will be drawn in by the colors and constant motion of the sets and sims. This is a director who has taken basic simmish details and actions and turned them into one large party. Even the credits are a homage to Sim neighborhoods. This video could be a commercial for Nightlife and EA would do well to take notice of this director.(chosen by and commentary by Witchery)
#9 - Broken - BardNoir
There are some Sims2 movies that can convey deep emotion. This movie is a perfect example of the emotions that can be brought forth from the Sims. A beautiful blending of editing and filming techniques showcase the story and makes it easy for the viewer to be brought into this modern young family’s life. Attention to details such as the aging of the child and the maturation of the father during his incarceration are conveyed throughout. Coupled with custom skin and set design this is a well thought out, beautiful piece. (chosen by and commentary by Witchery)
#8 - On3 Ro0f - elikhi
On3 Ro0f is a hilarious look into the lives of two serious gamers who
have nothing in common except for their past times. This series has had
a huge effect on the sims 2 community because, i think, each of us can
see shades of ourselves in the cast of this movie. Wonderfully put together and technically proficient, elikhi's series leaves a lasting impression on anyone who watches it. (chosen by Tacoshack

#7 - Fred Jones - JPWatt8080
When most people think of JPWatt's films, they probably remember her most for her fantastic comedies like 'Run', her horror two-parter 'Snowman' or her music videos like 'Against All Odds', but her drama 'Fred Jones' should not be overlooked. With emotional depth and flawless pacing, JPWatt wove a tragic and lonely tale. She did not neglect a single aspect of moviemaking, using sets, skins, and music as fluid storytelling devices. I chose this movie as a stand out film of 2005 because of the way JPWatt brought the song to life, and made her characters seem so real. There's a reason so many people have this movie on their favorites list. Watch it, and it will surely be on yours as well. (chosen by and commentary by Nova)
