In answer to an earlier question yes you are allowed any type of machinima movie, it is not just for the sims, It can be any game or machinima film.
Now for my review: I love to see new movies using different games,
I am blown away, I have never played the game, but those characters look so real and their facial expressions, I can't get over it, their emotions look so real, and the way she passed through him and the scene with her on the water, it makes me want to play the game, that was absolutely beautiful, I seen nothing in this movie that showed it was a game, the filming you done here was amazing. I could cry, unbelievable, I am lost for words, 5 stars, would give more if we had them. That was incredible. I mean That.
I keep watching this over and over, and I notice she even has real tears, gosh I just can't get over this.
Okay I found out from a final fantasy player that it is in game cimantics put together but still the game looks amazing and they were put together well, definately will make people want to try the game.

Yeah it finally got the 5 stars it deserves, this movie inspired all of mine as well as outburst of several FF movies, and perfect song choice, I fell inlove with the song too.

This was so stunning!

I don't have the game, but this movie makes want to buy it. The characters looked so real, which made me feel for them even more. And your editing was perfect: the beautiful fading, the zooming and the slow rotation around the characters... Absolutely awesome! I liked the pacing too. The scenes were held long enough to fully take them in and the story just had a very natural flow to it.

Truly moving!
5 stars
Also: Oceanangel2you made a topic about your movie on the BBS. It's in the 'Now Showing' section. It would be great if you could comment on this project a bit, because I think lots of people here are more familiar with The Sims than other machinima.

Holy cra-, this movie's stunning graphics just absolutely blew me away! Is this Final Fantasy? Because I will definitely be checking that game out! Those characters looked so real it was uncanny. I've never seen any game parallel those graphics...my jaw is still on the floor.

The movie itself was great, and the editing was superb too. I think that in their shock of the graphics, everyone is forgetting the actual storyline, lol. I loved it. You managed to convey the characters emotions so well, and you set out the scenes perfectly.

This would definitely be my Nomination, however, I am holding back because I am unsure of one thing. Did you actually film those scenes? Or were they the game's Cinematics that you edited together? Either way it's a 5 star movie, but if they were cinematics, then I don't think I'd Nominate something just because of the graphics, though I am very tempted to, and I still may! lol

Anyway, absolutely amazing work! I've saved this one to my hard drive!

That was emotional yet astounding. It had a good plot and reason. Great Job.

Overall Score: 5

The graphics were awesome, and overall I give the movie a 5. The one thing I don't understand is how this is considered a movie that is 'made' by someone. The movie looked as if it were already made and the creator just picked scenes from the game and added music. Can this really be considered the 'creator's' creation?

That was beautiful. I loved the use of a new platform, and the story was easy enough to follow. The editing was great. I've never played Final Fantasy before, what beautiful graphics. I'm going to watch this again, lol. Nice work.

I do have to add, as the poster before me did, that these do look like pre-made scenes from the short movies that are generally already in these kinds of games. Nevertheless, its a very entertaining movie.

Excellent! The realism was uncanny, and the song matched perfectly! Please, continue making such wonderful films! God knows we need more great Machinima directors out there....

Nice editing that's about it. I wouldn't call it best film considering its just edited togetehr already scripted CG scenes from the game. I'm sorry but to me that's not really film making it's just editing.

I personally find it a little disappointing that you just used cutscenes. That would be like me taking 5 minutes out of a james bond moving, editing it together, and calling it 'my' movie.

That much aside, the graphics and editing were very nice, but I found the story was a bit bare. I would like to have seen more growth or change and development to the characters (considering this is the one part of the movie that you did yourself).

I did find it interesting that you showed a way to use another game though, and I'm sure after seeing this, many people will be much more interested in buying FF to try it out for moviemaking capabilities.

I agree with them! You cant just take cutscenes from a game and call it your movie. Thats pretty much plagerism and it really doesnt take much talent. The game itself has extremely nice graphics so maybe you should try to make it yourself.

I have been a FF fan since the early days before 32bit graphics, and I've been a romantic all my life, so, from the standpoint of watching something beautiful and moving in a romantic way, this is really incredibly beautiful and amazingly touching.
BUT, I have to agree with Mike, and he said it perfectly.
I'm not able to rate this as a work of machinima, but, I did watch it twice, and I do thank you for the beautiful entertainment.

So the big question is: CAN the same kind of quality be filmed in FF as you see in these cutscenes? If so, I have found my new media for Machinima! Amazing graphics. And you did a nice job editing as well.

If someone knows the answer to this question, even SYCnTIRED himself, please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, I love Final Fantasy as well, I am the proud owner of the very first Nintendo Final Fantasy (they're just little block figures! Haha!) I watched this even knowing that these were cutscenes (just in case anyone was wondering, no, the actual game would not film this way. This is studio quality stuff.) and I still enjoyed it very much. That's one of the features I love about FF, the cutscenes are always so beautiful and so inspiring. I don't see where you took credit saying that this was your own movie, anyone that plays the FF series would know that these are cutscenes. Anyway,I would definitely watch if you did more. My favorite is still FFVIII, I think the ending was really great, hint hint! I appreciate that you took the time to edit the scenes together and set it to music. I enjoyed it very much!

wow! this was truly amazing. the way you put this scenes together was brilliant. i wish i could give you more then five stars because this movie is so amazingly brilliant.

I love the fact that the chracters seem so real. i own final fantasy x and x-2 but i have yet to beat the games. But watching this move makes me want to spend all my time to try and beat them.

I believe that there is a message in this movie and that it's to always treasure those who you love the most because someday they could be gone.

This was a truly heart tearing movie. My heart still feels heavy with sympathy for yuna. She loved tidus so much and then she lost him. I literally cried during this movie. All i can say is Brava.

That was really good, please tell me where you got these scenes. Email me. Now that I've seen your movie, I really want to buy the game. I love how they have real facial expressions instead of just empty stares like sims usually do. This movie made me want to cry. The movie also made me want to buy the song because it matched what was going on perfectly to me.
