2006 "Scare the Witch" Contest!

This contest was inspired by our very own moderator witch, CrystalWitchery (just Witchery on the forums). She loves all things spooky and scary, so we thought we'd put her to nerves to the test.

Wow! Witchery gave this film top marks for scariness, and it's easy to see why! Taizhu blew us all away with the stunning and evil storyline. The actions, filming, sets, sims, editing, and effects... just incredible. An astounding, visual treat.

Don't watch this movie in the dark! Excellent suspense, which made for a great Halloween movie. Loved the design of the sets and the sound effects and voiceovers brought this story to life. Everything about it was fabulous, from all the incredible custom content, to excellent voice-acting and sound design, to flawless editing! We particularly loved the dark part at the end, it was a great build-up of tension which gives the ending greater impact. Brilliant storytelling scared us all!

Epic 99 by Gpenn76

Judges Comments:

Interesting and original take on how the world ends and apparently it's all Nova's fault! Somehow, we are not surprised that Sims99 takes down the world. A truly frightful look into the future that gave us a case of the heebie-jeebies! Very creative use of concept and storyboarding. We thought the editing was terrific and helped present the story very well.

The Spoon Murders by Neavers85

Judges Comments:

This may not have had the creepy factor but it had such a Pythonesque feel to it. It and was cute and wacky - although death by spoon sure sounds painful! Frighteningly hilarious. Overall the production was very well done and the editing was great!

Vickie's Nightmare by brittneyanncat

Judges Comments:

The evil witch had a beautiful outfit and what a creepy cat telling her who to kill - naughty kitty! An inventive story with good use of music to set mood. This is Halloween! Loved how the camera follows the path of the evil woman by focusing on her feet... fits with the music very well. A scary film!
