2006 Anniversary Movie Contest!

Judges Comments Summary:

The story behind this movie was compelling, creative and fun!  We loved seeing some of the users' actual movies being utilized as sets for this interesting tale. The plot was very tense up until the last minute and had us swelling with Sims99 pride when it was over. Great custom content, good voiceovers, and the camera work while not overly fancy, was used very effectively to tell the story. Wonderful work!

Although this contest was very difficult to judge because of the high standard of movies submitted, this film really bowled us over!

The visuals in this movie were stunning!   It went beyond the expected with the Sims 2, and almost seems a genre in and of itself.

All of our judges commented on how much fun the theme was, and the creativity shown here is unmatched in the way he used filming, editing and special effects to create an amazing story landscape.

From beginning to end we were so wrapped up in watching this film!  Right down to the end when the superhero and flies off ...amazing stuff!  This was an original idea and the recreation of "The Mighty Mods" was not only an honor but "super" fun!
 

This movie was hilarious! There were several parts that has tears coming to one judge's eyes because she was laughing so hard.

This movie definitely had good camera work, and some cool effects with the computer screen. The narration angle of the storytelling technique was amusing and set this movie apart.

To sum up with one judge's comment:  "Just damned fantastic!"

One judge said she remembered this song fondly from when graduating from high school.  Not only that, we all felt Ocean did a wonderful job on building all the scenes that the song mentions, and we enjoyed seeing so many of our "99ers" represented!

We could tell that a lot of work went into making different, creative scenes for this speech. It was fun to anticipate what the creator would show the Sims doing next for this well-known speech.

Overall impression:  Just so much fun!

This is an entertaining movie that is set to a hilarious song. I liked all the references to televisions shows of the past and present.  Really cute, especially that little 3 second shot that if you pause it you realize it's a disclaimer from the movie rules...clever!

The custom content used was fun and fitting, and we enjoyed watching!
