For Sims99.com's first anniversary, we decided to do something special.
Each of the admins/moderators for Sims99 came up with a list of 10 movies they felt were special in some way. They had to not only be good movies, but show something that no other movie did, introduce a new technique, be groundbreaking, or just capture the imagination. Then, we went through a strange and magical voting system to not only narrow that list of 40 down to 31 movies, but to rank them.
Movies by the moderators themselves and movies that had already been honoured in the Sims99 monthly contest were excluded from the possible pool of candidates. That narrowed it down to just over 2000 possible winners. It was an extremely tough set of choices to make, and all the moderators spent a great deal of time pondering and considering which movies to highlight.
Our list may differ from your own personal list of favourites, but we hope you'll enjoy reading about the movies we thought deserved top honours, and perhaps you'll even find out about a truly great movie that you've never seen before.
One movie was highlighted each day of the month in January, and each of the movies featured in our retrospective was also awarded the special icon above to display on their movie page!
